Step into a story.
There is one for you.

Dinners

We’ve always been into the interpretive dance between food and music, the way a flavor and a sound can come together to tell a story. Join us for this very special collaboration between M. Judson's TripLIT and West Greenville's Bar Mars (home of mixologist Chris George). For Sound Bites, funky cocktails and small plates pay tribute to legendary musicians we love. Each $75 ticket includes three courses with cocktail pairings and a copy of a book about the artist in question. Seats are limited and will sell fast.

6:30 PM on:

  • April 22: Dolly Parton

  • May 13: Willie Nelson

Day Trips

We’re organizing some day trips and conversations around the greater Greenville area, focusing on the kind of stories we love to hear: about farmers and chefs, families and fans of big ideas, writers and readers and those of us who just love to learn more. Each trip will have a book attached, a tour or experience, a bite to eat and a personal talk with the writer, chef, farmer or artisan doing their thing here in our corner of the world. Some trips take place over a morning or an afternoon, some are a full day. We’ll be expanding this schedule often, so stay in touch!

Reader's Retreats

Some of our wildest fantasies involve nothing but an empty weekend and a big stack of books. We figure we’re not alone (and why should we be?) We’re organizing a getaway where everything is taken care of— cushy hotel, sips and snacks, yoga and movies if you want them, naps if you don’t, plus lunch delivered in a basket to your door so you don’t even have to use a bookmark. Best of all, our reader’s retreat includes two new-to-you titles: one book by an author who will be joining us for brunch on Sunday, and one book we pick especially for you, based on our highly subjective, quirky and personal questionnaire. First retreat, February 2021.

Long Weekend Trips

We curate trips to places far and wide, designed to bring the bookish experience to life. These are all-inclusive, extra-special, Thursday night through Monday morning excursions, chock full of activities way beyond your average touristy travel. We open the weekend with an intimate author dinner and conversation, then we get moving, taking on the sights, sounds and tastes of the books we’re reading. We’ve visited voodoo queens in New Orleans and whaleships in Nantucket, and there’s nothing really as delicious as the deep dish in Chicago. Next up: Nashville Fall 2020.
